Similar to other ginsenosides, it has a cardioprotective effect. Ginsenoside Rg3 enhances cardiac, hERG (IKr), and KCNQ (Iks) channel currents through its interaction with the entrance of channel pores. It also inhibits palmitate induced insulinoma in MIN6N8 mice by regulating p44/42 MAPK activation β Apoptosis of cells. Ginsenoside Rg3 increases the level of transcription factor Nrf2 and induces mRNA levels of multidrug resistance associated proteins (Mrp) 1 and Mrp3. Rg3 regulates neuroinflammation by reducing the response of microglia to systemic LPS treatment.
