Further studies show that this antiinflammatory compound also inhibits leukotriene formation in human leukocytes. Additionally, 5-Aminosalicylic acid demonstrates the ability to disrupt TNFα (tumor necrosis factor α)-stimulated NFκB (nuclear factor κB) activation via inhibition of the multimeric IκB kinase regulating complex.Anti-inflammatory compound. Requires bioactivation by cytochrome P450 in vitro and in vivo .
