A olyphenolic compound found in green tea and an epimer of (-)-epigallocatechin.Antioxidant agent. Free radical scavenger. Shows more potent scavenging effects on free radicals than epicatechin ( Asc 1119 ) and catechin ( Asc 2852 ), but less potent effects than (-)-epigallocatechin ( Asc 2378 ) and gallocatechin gallate ( Asc 2882 )
